What is Ecstasy?


Ecstasy or MDMA is a psychoactive drug that is chemically similar to methamphetamine. Initially the drug is marketed as an appetite suppressant drug, but it is currently widely used by addicts as a hallucinogenic drug.

The drug is also often called Party dance drug or drug, as it allows the user dancing all night without feeling himself tired.

Ecstasy debuted in the early 1960's and 1980's were always known as a psychedelic drug, supplying a lot all night rave in England. The drug used to treat various mental disorders at an early stage. but instead of treating patients, it made them worse.

Ecstasy is the street name for MDMA (Methylene dioxy meth amphetamine). Ecstasy was used to treat psychiatric disorders in 60's, in USA. But instead of curing patients, it made the disorder worse and therefore the drug was abandoned. The drug became known for its effects of generating hallucinations, altered state of awareness and distortion of perception, in the 1980's, and its use has increased since.

If you were to ask members of the general public what sort of drugs they know about and what ones are commonly used by younger people, it is likely that ecstasy would feature very highly in any answers given by people. This is because this drug is highly associated with music and youth culture, giving it a very high presence and ensuring that public awareness of the drug abuse is extremely high. There is no doubt that a number of high profile casualties linked to the drug has also ensured it has a high awareness level for many people who would not normally know too much about drugs. There are obviously a number of reasons why people think ecstasy is a great product to use, which is why so many users use it every weekend but it is fair to say that there are many negative points about the drug use too.
