Teen drug treatment facilities have shown that there is a growing number of teenage drug abuse cases in the United States. Painkillers(opiods), central nervous system depressants (drugs to reduce panic attacks), certain nervous system stimulants(drugs to treat sleeping disorders and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) are being abused by teens, taken without the permission of the doctor, with a false sense of belief that they will feel fine. Regular intake of these medications can make the body reliant on these drugs and there can be very high withdrawal symptoms when a person stops taking them. Overdose can result in death as well. Teenage prescription drug abuse is definitely, a clear and present danger among teens.

When it comes to illicit drugs, there is no limit; teens are known to abuse as much as adults do according to teen treatment centers. Drugs do nothing but harm and there can be a lot of complications in life, health-wise and even emotionally. Teenage is the phase of life when you should learn new things and become focused more than ever because you tend to absorb many things in this phase.
