The Morphine Side Effects

Author: Carol

Morphine is a highly common opiate medication that is given in emergency rooms to treat pain that is moderate or severe. Several general morphine side effects would include dizziness, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, chills, nervousness, sweating, confusion, mood changes, and weaknesses. Usually, these side effects are only mild, though, and will leave after the medication wears off.

The duration of morphine's overall effectiveness is usually around four or five hours and there are some extreme morphine side effects that could prove to be exceedingly dangerous. Such side effects would include a significant decrease or increase in heart rate, shallow or slow breathing, blurry vision, seizures, hallucinations, and convulsions. If heroin were not around, morphine would be the leader of narcotic drugs when it comes to dependency. In fact, it can be found around town under the code names Morph, China White, God's Drug, Dreamer, and White Stuff, among others.
